Medical Insurance

If your child is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, you may obtain services funded through your medical insurance.  ABA benefits vary by plan; having one of the insurance companies listed below does not guarantee that you have coverage for Coyne’s ABA intervention services.  Initiation of service is dependent on formal approval/authorization from your insurance company.  It is recommended that you contact your insurance company to verify coverage of ABA services with Coyne & Associates.

Coyne & Associates is in network with the following health insurance plans:

Commercial Insurance:

  • Blue Shield (Magellan)
  • United Behavioral Health (Optum)
  • Anthem Blue Cross
  • Aetna
  • Kaiser (Easter Seals)

Government Insurance:

  • Medi-Cal Programs
    • Kaiser-Easter Seals
    • Molina Healthcare (San Diego & Inland Empire regions)
    • Care 1st (San Diego region)

Regional Center Behavioral Services Program

ABA intervention services may also be available through the California Regional Center Behavioral Services Program if your family’s health insurance does not cover ABA services. If no alternative funding sources are available, Regional Centers may fund ABA intervention as long as the child meets specified “Lanterman Act” criteria, including:

  • A diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, and/or epilepsy
  • A “substantial disability” in at least 3 of the following areas:
    • Communication (receptive/expressive language)
    • Learning abilities
    • Self-care skills
    • Mobility
    • Self-direction
    • Independent living skills
    • Economic self-sufficiency
