Parent Education

Coyne provides comprehensive, home-based 1:1 intervention services to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  In collaboration with parents and other relevant caregivers, each child’s ABA intervention program is individually tailored to best meet the child’s specific needs.

Our teaching techniques are based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). We use a “best practice” approach to intervention in which the most current scientifically-supported ABA methods are implemented. Some of the teaching techniques routinely utilized in our program include discrete-trial teaching (DTT), natural environment teaching (NET), errorless teaching, shaping, and differential reinforcement.

Parent Education

Parent training is an integral component of our ABA intervention program. At first, Coyne’s Early Childhood Instructors (ECIs) work directly with a child to establish instructional control, build skills, and reduce challenging behavior. Over time, parents are trained to implement relevant teaching techniques and behavior management strategies to ensure maintenance of behavioral changes. Our ultimate goal is to gradually fade out ABA intervention services as parents demonstrate the ability to successfully manage their child’s daily routine on their own.
