So how DOES California rank in the delivery of services
Our mission is to provide quality services to children on the autism spectrum and to their families. Our goal is to teach children skills that result in a behavioral repertoire as similar as possible to a typical developing child.
Our teaching techniques are based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. We use the most advanced teaching strategies available. Our teaching techniques and intervention methods were shown to be effective in peer reviewed scientific journals. We use a variety of teaching techniques which include: discrete trial teaching, pivotal response teaching, independent activity schedules, picture exchange communication systems, incidental teaching, errorless teaching and other related techniques.
Our efforts are aimed at teaching children skills that generalize across a variety of people and settings. Parent training is an essential part of our program. Teaching parents ABA teaching techniques ensures that the skills taught to the child in the teaching sessions generalize and are maintained in a variety of situations.
When working in a school setting we coordinate our efforts with others in the interdisciplinary team: teachers, speech pathologists, occupational therapists and others.
